Cannot crank lawn mower (Please help )?
Tilted lawn mower to far forward, oil got behind the spark plug and is in the cylinder which is called hydrolic lock, I think. So the result is that when I pull the cord to crank it, it just recoils back hard. So I took the spark plug out and the cord pulls fine. So I drained the oil with the plug out. put new oil in and I still have the same problem. When I put the new plug in the cord still recoils back but i can take it out and its workin fine. how do I fix this ?
it sounds like to me that you have oil on top of the valves but i am not sure in a lawnmower you can get oil on top of the valves so that exhaust gas has no place to go it will act just like the motor is locked up i am not and expert on this so dont hold to this but try to just let it set over night and see if the oil will drain down off the valves leave the plugs out the pull it a time or two when you get back to it later then put the plug back in and try it you may have replace the plug if it will turn over though to get it to fire that one is ruined it wont fire if ti oil soaked ....hope this helps
