My aluminum window awnings need to be painted, will spray paint be ok or should I use something else?
Yes, aluminum needs to be primed before the finish coat is applied, but Virgo really didn't answer the question. Yes, you can use spray paint for this job, it will be easier and give you a much nicer, smoother finish than a brush could. You will need to use a spray primer first, however. It's available in many colors as the undercoat. Personally I'd use Rust Oleum Auto Primer, then the finish coat. Spray lightly and apply several coats, rather than one heavy coat that may run.
