Need knowledge to fix unlevel deck. An extension was added and they didn't level the joist.?
The additional deck boards are a 1/4" higher that the old ones. How can I level it? The deck is nailed down and there is an under deck patio roof under it. Can I sand it level with a commercial belt sander?
Sounds like you hired some HACK "carpenters". You can use a belt sander to bevel the 1/4" lip so that it is not so noticeable. Sanding the entire board down a 1/4" would be a lot of work. You could remove the boards and run them through a planer but that is also a lot of work.
